Marie Fall’s perseverance was awarded on Saturday night when she was named Fiji Airways Project Jejemon Model of the Year.

Ms Fall was lost for words when approached for a comment straight after her name was announced.

It was a fitting finale for FBC TV Project Jejemon when Ms Fall was named Model of the Year, with Marist Brothers High School pair, Seci Burese and Andre Marseu, under the label SNM, taking out the Designer of the Year award.

Ms Fall said it was an unexpected honour.

“I was not expecting this. I thank (show producer) Andhy (Blake) and the organisers for opening this door,” Miss Fall said.

“I started modelling last year at the Fiji Fashion Week Show and through my mother’s motivation, I was able to make it this far.”

Ms Fall will now get the chance to meet representatives of a Wellington modelling agency for possible representation and have a return flight with Fiji Airways to Wellington, New Zealand, and a $500 award.

Meanwhile, Mr Burese and Mr Marseu could not contain their delight when they were named designers of the year.

The two design under the label SNM.

They both responded with the same answers: “Winning today was just a bonus. We were not expecting this and we only decided to take part in the show because we wanted the experience and we thank the organisers and Andhy for this wonderful experience,” they said.

As winners of Project Jejemon Designer of the Year, they won a return flight with Fiji Airways to Wellington, New Zealand, and $1000 award.

Television producer and presenter for Jejemon, Andhy Blake, said that tough decisions were made to decide the winners because the talents displayed was amazing.

It was a night of glamour as over 250 guests watched some of Fiji’s best clothes designs and talents displayed.
