Bulileka residents and farmers outside Labasa have been eagerly awaiting the opening of the new Boca Bridge today.

The bridge, which has been under urgent construction, organised by Fiji Roads Authority, has many villagers excited and looking forward to using it.

Farmer Rakesh Prasad said the old bridge has caused a lot of concerns for many sugarcane farmers in the area.

“It was closed for more than three weeks now and was restricted to light vehicles only,” Mr Prasad said.

“Now taking our loads of cane to the mill will not be a problem.”

Similar sentiments were shared by Panapasa Baravi of Bulileka Village. “Students, market vendors and workers are looking to the bridge opening so they can board the bus from their doorsteps,” Mr Baravi said.
