The people of the North can expect more development projects after the Rotary International allocated NZ$250,000 (FJ$352,000) for the Rotary Club in Labasa.

Club president Ami Kohli said the club had been involved in many projects in the North.

“The club has been helping people of the North through water projects, distribution of library books and medical teams from overseas,” Mr Kohli said.

He said the projects were aimed at improving the lives of grassroots people.

Mr Kohli has been with the club for the past four years. “I am looking forward to put up more projects, so that the people of the North can benefit,” he said.

Mr Kohli said the club planned to focus on children’s welfare, health and to get women to be involved in the club.
