Work by the committee dealing with the return of extinct mataqali and yavusa lands is moving ahead steadily.

This was revealed by Prime Minister, Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Sugar Industry,Voreqe Bainimarama in Parliament yesterday..

“On Schedule A lands, 844 parcels were transferred from the state to TLTB, out of this total, 782 parcels have been transferred to the yavusa and other claimants while 62 parcels are currently being processed which brings about 93% of completion,”Mr Bainimarama said.

‘’Schedule A lands and Schedule B lands 260 parcels have been transferred from the state to the TLTB, 176 parcels have been allotted to Yavusa and other claimants and brings about a 68% completion. That’s the update right now on the extinct mataqali and yavusa lands,”he said.
