Schools in the North will be featured during the Northern Agriculture Show 2015.

The show will witness schools and students taking part in many activities like oratory contest, placards competition and school gardens competition.

Saint Augustine Public School Head Teacher Setefano Curuki said the school were preparing well for the Agriculture show.

“Teachers and students have started working together to gear up the school for the event and we are looking forward to it,” Mr Curuki said.

He said the agriculture officers visited the school to help students on the preparation of the gardens.

“We are thankful that agriculture officers are visiting our school and help students on the land preparation, seed sowing and planting methods.”

Mr Curuki said the school was well prepared for the show and is eyeing the prizes.

Land Resource Planning Development (LRPD) Research officer Dharmen said: “We are expecting many schools in the North to participate in the garden competition.”

He said we started to visit school to help them with garden preparations a month before the show.

“We understand that most students in Labasa come from farming background and whatever they learn they can always take it back home and practice it.”

There will be 13 primary school and 8 secondary school participating in the oratory contest.

The Agriculture show will be held at Subrail Park in Labasa.
