No longer will I need to struggle to farm ducks and chicken said Riteshni Prasad a farmer from Navua.

Mrs Prasad was part of the 331 who received the Micro and Small Business Grant from the Government yesterday.

Upon receiving this money Mrs Prasad was overwhelmed and explained with this money I will extend my business.

She said: “From this thousand dollar I can make the shed for the ducks and chicken so I can do a better business.”

“At the moment my chicken pen is underneath my house and I use the floor of my house as the pen.

“It is very hard to clean it and when it rains the eggs gets wet and the production is less.”

Mrs Prasad said farming has become a passion for her and she wants to continue and expand this business.

“I am very interested in farming and really enjoying doing this business.

“I started with ducking farming but have increased this business and now I am now doing chicken farming and sell eggs as well.

She expressed her gratitude to the government for looking after the Micro and Small businesses.

“I am very thankful that the government is helping us through this grant so that we can grow our business and benefit and help our children and their future. “

“Sometimes it becomes very hard to support the family and this grant will help me expand my business.”
