Matelita Buadromo won silver medals in the women’s 100m freestyle and 400m medley at the Taurama Aquatic Centre on Monday.

The Lau native admitted she could have done better.

She came second to Emma Terebo of New Caledonia in the freestyle with a time of 58.29 seconds. Buadromo went on to win silver in the 400m medley.

Caroline Puamau finished in third place with a time of 58.90 seconds.

Buadromo was satisfied with her time.

“I’m quite impressed with my time but I think I should have done better.

“I want to thank Caroline for being there for me even though the competition was tough,” Buadromo said.

New Caledonian Terebo said the competition was tough.

“I did not do well in the preliminaries and reminded myself to come out strong and the competition was tough from the Fijian swimmers,” Terebo said.
