ANALYSIS: Closing Gap
Flying Fijians at the GPH yesterday.

Flying Fijians need to launch their 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign in flying style at the ANZ Stadium today.

There’s no better way to kick-start this than by beating the Maori All Blacks at the ANZ Stadium.

For so long we came so close yet so far and we need to close the gap today.

The Maori are looking to extend an extraordinary 18-match, 12-year unbeaten run against full international sides. This stretches back to 2003, when England beat them 23-9 in New Plymouth.

Over the years, we have played each other 28 times with the Maoris winning 19 games, drawing twice and losing seven

The record is definitely not in our favour and Fijians should set it straight.

And to this we need key players to take control.

Leone Nakarawa – He should marshall the pack and needs to make it tick in the lineouts and the set piece.

Akapusi Qera – ‘Q’ should  lead the charge in contesting the breakdowns like what Samoa did against the All Blacks

Vereniki Goneva – The Leicester Tigers centre should be the main organiser in the backline.

Nemani Nadolo – After his Super Rugby stint with the Crusaders, fans expect a mighty game from him .
