Caroline Puamau and Matelita Buadromo finished  second and third respectively in the women’s 50 metres butterfly final at the Pacific Games.

Puamau won silver clocking 28.61 seconds behind Emma Tereto of New Caledonia who won gold with a time of 28.44 secs. Buadromo clocked 28.71secs to settle for bronze.

Buadromo won silver in the women’s 800m freestyle with a time of 9:33.71minutes, Lara Grangeon of New Caledonia won gold and Charlotte Robin won bronze.

The Lau native fought hard to win another silver in the women’s 800m freestyle behind Lara Grangeon who won gold and set a new record time of 8: 52.99minutes, Buadromo came second with 9:33.71 minutes

The Fijian swimmers ended the night in a big way in the mixed 4x50m freestyle where PNG led by Ryan Pini beat New Caledonia in the last lapse to win gold with 1:40.02minutes. Puamau won silver with a time of 1: 400.45minutes.Caledonia won the bronze medal.
