The Fiji Bati side are now wary of the hosts side Papua New Guinea as the two meet at Sir John Guise Stadium at 2pm) today.

Head coach Maika Vunivere said they would need to showcase the talents of our local players.

“PNG have two locals and the rest of the players are part of the Hunters team playing in Queensland competition.

“We will go out there do our best and we want to prove ourselves well to the region having local based players in our side,” Vunivere said.

The Bati defeated Samoa 16-10 in their opening match and went on to beat Cook Islands 14-12 at Sir John Guise Stadium yesterday.

With the leadership of captain Asaeli Saravaki the side looked confident.

“We are happy that we have won but we are still not satisfied that we did not play the game that we wanted to play.

“We need to regroup well for our game against PNG,” Vunivere said.
