Ex-Students Reunite At Anniversary

It was a fond moment for Suva Grammar School ex-student Adrienne Evans, when she wore her primary school uniform again after 32 years.
Ms Evans was attending the launch of the Suva Gammar School’s 55th and Veiuto Primary School’s 50th anniversary celebrations at Veiuto yesterday.
“Wearing my 1983 primary school dress was perfect for this occasion,” she said.
“I have managed to squeeze into this dress but I haven’t come across people who have signed on my dress way back.”
She said she hoped to get her school classmates to sign during this one-week celebration.
“This is the first time I am part of this reunion and I wished that I had been part of this earlier but I will not miss the next one.
“I don’t remember in which class I was but it was amazing being part of Veiuto Primary School and then Suva Grammar School,” Ms Evans said.
She said the monkey bars and her old primary classroom at Veiuto were still the same.
Meanwhile, William Petueli, an ex-student of the 1980s said, “Attending Veiuto Primary School and then going to Suva Grammar School was a great experience and I received very good education from here.”
Another ex-scholar Tamsy Griffen said: “Every year I come all the way from Sydney to be part of this celebration and looking back in 1974, I enjoyed being on the monkey bars which are still here.”
Meanwhile, a former Veiuto Primary School teacher Rusiate Tora said: “I had great time teaching students of Veiuto Primary School in 1999 and today, it’s good to see them working at better places.”
