Iliesa Nailava of Vunanoi, Serua, hopes to expand his farming business with the grant he received from Government yesterday.

The 68-year-old farmer has been farming since 1980 and today supplies his produce to two hotels on the Coral Coast. These are The Warwick Fiji and Naviti Resort.

“I am supplying cucumber, Chinese cabbage, tomato, coriander and beans to these two resorts,” he said.

“I am very pleased to receive the grant which will be very useful allowing me to expand my farm and be able to grow more.”

Mr Nailava understands the importance of the grant awarded to him and will not be taking it for granted.

“I know money comes from taxpayers and so I will use it wisely,” he said.

Mr Nailava hopes to one day expand his business to include livestock farming.
