What happened: The Stallions came out firing from the first play.Nadi forwards were penalised and first five-eighth Alivereti Veitokoni kicked a penalty to lead 3-0.

Picking up from the blunder fullback Setareki Tuicuvu was in dazzling form resulting in a try.

Centre Cyrill Reece converted to lead 3-7.

Nadroga with the services of experienced forwards such as Sekonaia Kalou, Waisea Daveta, Alivereti Bure, and Ilaisa Leca proved handy allowing  Nagusa to score from a pushover try which was converted by Veitokoni.

Halftime: Nadroga 10 – 7 Nadi

In the second spell the home side started well with Reece kicking a penalty for the teams to draw 10-10.

Not so long Nadroga pulled another try through Maikeli Toga as he forced his way over Nadi backline players to score and was converted by Veitokoni 17-10.

Big play: lock Sekonaia Kalou was instrumental in the line-outs.

Star turn: Veitokani was on target with his kicking.

Comments:

Nadroga manager Ilavi Kato said: “We thank Nadi as they gave us good game. It was a tough match but then again both teams always give out the best. We are glad to overcome Nadi as we build up towards the Farebrother.”

Nadi manager Jeff Tamata said: “It was good match as expected Nadroga came out firing. Our boys played well but there are a lot of areas we need to improve on.”
