Suliana Disoloi, 34, also known as Marica, is an amputee living at Naqai Village, in Labasa.
Her leg was amputated nine years ago after she was injured in a road accident.
Since then she has been using her late father’s wheelchair to move around.
“The wheelchair is very old and no longer serves its true purpose,” Ms Disoloi said.
She has two children and they live with her brother in the village.
“My children attend St Mary’s Primary School and the only source of income is my brother’s income.
“I want a new wheelchair so that I can easily move around the house while preparing school lunch for my two children,” she said.
