What happened?

Rewa Youth thumped Northland Tailevu 4-0 in the Rewa Galaxy Youth League in Nausori yesterday.

Rewa got off to a good start with a goal from Simeli Batiratu in the sixth minute.

Good defence and constant pressure on Northland Tailevu paid off when Nikil Prasad scored the second goal for Rewa extending their lead, 2-0. Six minutes later, Prasad scored another goal from outside the box and Azhar Ali followed suite four minutes later to score another goal to lead 4-0 at half time.

Halftime: Rewa Youth 4-0 Northland-Tailevu.

Northland-Tailevu had a lot of opportunities, but failed to score.

Both teams made basic mistakes and showed lazy attack and defence.

Rewa dominated and had a few chances at goal to extend their lead, but were denied by Northland Tailevu goalkeeper Suraj Singh.

Star turn: Rewa’s Nikil Prasad scoring two goals for his team.

Big play: Northland Tailevu’s goalkeeper Suraj Singh performed well.

Comments: Rewa Youth coach Nigel Khan, “The boys played good but they lacked fitness.

Northland Tailevu coach Andy Reddy; “We played against a well prepared side today (yesterday) and we lost.

Fitness is something that we need to work on.”
