The Fijian women’s hockey team walloped Tonga 30-1 in their first match at Sir John Guise ground yesterday.

Head coach Allison Southey said they were expecting their first match to be tough.

“Good start in our first game we knew the first match will always be tough,”Southey said.

“The girls stuck to the game plan,” Southey said.

Meanwhile, the men also won their first match beating Solomon Island 22-1 yesterday.
