Banuve Tabakaucoro stamped his dominance as the Pacific sprint king with a new Pacific Games record in the men’s 200 metres final of the 2015 BSP Pacific Games last night.
The ‘Bau Bullet’ ran a time of 20.53 seconds, clearing his own previous record of 21.13 seconds which he set during the 2013 Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.
Tabakaucoro won his second gold medal after winning the blue ribbon event on Wednesday night with a time of 10.52 seconds.
Archrival and 2011 Games 200 metres gold medallist, Papua New Guinea’s Nelson Stone had to settle for the silver  while his fellow countryman Theo Piniau won the bronze medal.
Meanwhile, in the women’s 200 metres final, PNG’s Toea Wisil won the gold medal while Fijian duo Younis Bese and Sisilia Seavula scooped silver and bronze medals respectively.
