Diabetes Fiji Online
The Diabetes Fiji Inc launched its new website on Wednesday.
The Bayly Clinic general practitioner and founder of Diabetes Fiji Inc, Dr Wahid Khan, said the idea of having this website was to help promote awareness on diabetes.
“This website will enable the public to be aware of the seriousness of diabetes in one’s life and to be able to learn more about our organisation and what to do, where to go when they need our help,” he said.
“We have our foot care project which is funded by the World Diabetes Foundation and with that the Ministry of Health kindly allows nurses to be trained by us,” he said.
Diabetes Fiji has a peer group formed by a group of diabetic patients, so they can help each other and be counted even with their diabetic condition.
The Diabetes Fiji Inc supports screenings done by health nurses in various communities by providing strips to test for sugar.
