The elegant Talei Lomani Tuiketei of Lautoka is vying for the queen’s title at the Lautoka Farmers Carnival this Saturday and hopes her love of children will carry her through.

The 19-year-old was born in Nausori but her father hails from Nadroga and her mother is from Tailevu.

Ms Tuiketei is a student at the Naviti Campus of the Fiji National University in Lautoka.

She is studying for a diploma in marketing.

She is proudly sponsored by Wilderness Rides and Amusement Fiji Limited.

Her hobbies include reading, singing, socialising and dancing.

“I joined this contest because the theme appealed to me, to raise funds for the needy and the under-privileged children, to help support them in their education so that they can enjoy life and live a dream, live a passion and live a destiny.

“My aim in life is to become a successful sales and marketing Manager.

“I strongly believe in God, hard work, honesty, reliability and kindness at heart.

“I wish to join a non-governmental organization or any charitable organisation that would advocate on raising funds to help support the needy and underprivileged children.

“Life is too short, find the thing God made you to do, the thing that makes you joyful when you do it and give yourself to it with all your heart.

“Glorify God with it and when you do, you will feel blessed and others will feel blessed too,” she said.
