Wailevu Village youths in Macuata, Vanua Levu, want a fitness gym.

Village youth Uraia Sadrugu, during the Government’s National Development Plan public consultations at the village on Wednesday night, said they faced a lot of difficulties during sports training.

“When the boys in the village want to use the gym for fitness, we have to travel to Labasa Town,” Mr Sadrugu said.

He said their village rugby team was one of the best teams in Labasa.

“The consultation was a good platform to voice our concerns as youths because we are the ones who will benefit from these developments.”

He said half of the boys in the village play rugby and the establishment of a gym would benefit youths in the village.

Divisional planning officer northern Alipate Bolalevu thanked the Mr Sadrugu for highlighting issues affecting youths.

“I thank Mr Sadrugu for the point because they are the ones who will benefit from the developments in the next five years,” Mr Bolalevu said.

He said consultation teams are travelling around the North and taking note of needs of people.
