Exhibitionist On The Loose

An exhibitionist is causing alarm in the Khalsa Road area close to Tacirua Heights, in the Nasinu area between Suva and Nausori.

Mickey Bird was in that neck of the woods when he heard from residents how this chap, a former Police officer, has been flashing his genitals to the public, particularly women and young children.

At times he does an indecent act in front of them.

Official records show he has fronted twice before a magistrate on indecent exposure charges.

He has been to St Giles. But he is back in the community and residents are worried.

In the wake of the rape of the nine-year-old Nakasi girl resident are on edge, even though there is no suggestion this fellow was involved in that.

Some say they will take some drastic actions if Police do not act.

Unionist’s role

Some trade union members are asking why they are having to pay hefty legal bills when they have unionists who should advocate for them.

Accountants in one union are counting the cost of the outsourcing of union advocacy.

Simple cases that come before the Employment Court can be represented by the unionists themselves. The union recently received a bill of more than $5000 for a simple case.

One unionist spends most of his time outside of his office travelling, sometimes overseas.

How much time does he spend doing actual union work?

Ticket trouble

Some bus drivers seem to be still rejecting students’ bus tickets.

Mickey Bird received a call yesterday from a student saying he did not attend school as the bus driver rejected his ticket.

He said this was happening to many students. Why is this happening?
