Our Quartet Ends It In Style

The Fijian women’s 4x100m relay team spoiled the party for the hosts Papua New Guinea team yesterday.
They won the gold medal in the final event at Sir John Guise Stadium.
Sisilia Seavula, Makelesi Tumalevu, Elenoa Sailosi and Younis Bese capped off the day for Fiji.
The Fijians clocked 46.17 seconds, PNG won silver with a time of 46.27secs and New Caledonia won bronze medal with a time of 49.53secs.
Tumalevu said running against the Pacific sprint queen Toea Wisil was a challenge to her but was close.
“It was a close run but I did well, it was a huge challenge for me getting there,” Tumalevu said.
Sailosi said in her mind she just wanted to close the gap between them and PNG so that the anchor Younis Bese takes them through.
“I gave all, I emptied the fuel just to get that baton to our main girl who will finish it successfully,” Sailosi said.
Meanwhile, the men’s 4x100m relay team finished in second place while PNG won gold
