Members of the Indonesian community in Fiji, friends and invited guests gathered at the Indonesian Embassy in Suva last Saturday to celebrate Eid.

Siti Zulesa, who has been living in Fiji for 16 years, said the event was one of their annual highlights.

“I am married to a Fijian man with three children and we live in Tavua,” Mrs Zulesa said.

“Today is so special because we, as Indonesians, come together to celebrate and have a great time.”

Embassy Third Secretary Berlian Erpiliyana said a lot of people turned up for the celebration.

“It was amazing to see the turnout as Indonesians and people of other races joined in the celebration,” the Third Secretary said.

They joined Muslims around the world to celebrate Eid–Al–Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
