The Coretech Fiji and Touchwood Investments Club Championship qualifying rounds saw 108 golfers participating at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva on Sunday.

The two-day tournament was to prepare the golfers for the East-West championship next month.

Eight players from the two divisions will compete in the A, B and C grades.

Match committee chairman Ramesh Krisna Goundon said they anticipated an exciting battle between the teams.

“The East team is preparing very well and is looking forward to this challenge,” Goundon said.

“We urge all supporters to come in numbers and support this minor sporting event.”

The East team is sponsored by Coretech Fiji & Touchwood Investments and comprised of Jone Saluca, Rohit Chand,Vijay Goundan, Vijay Singh, James Pridgeon and Arun Prasad.

The B-grade team comprised of Y Ahmed, Shaun Hong Hwang, Conway Beg, Eroni Mavoa, Ashok Goundar and Ram Bajekal.

The C-grade team comprised of Yu Minimbi,Sang Hyun Ra, Woo Jun Hwang, Jean Bentley, Aryan Kumar, and Peter Dixon. The East versus West is schedule to take place on August 9.
