Council Stays Updated With Regulations

The Nadi branch of the Customs Brokers and Forwarders Council is working closely with all key Government agencies to be on par with the latest regulations.

CBFC Nadi branch secretary Leone Cabemaiwai said they recently attended an awareness programme with the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry on the export and import of wooden products.

He said this is done so that all stakeholders are in-line with all the new requirements required by Government.

“We went through the scope of work for all agencies” said Mr Cabemaiwai.

He indicated that this is part of an ongoing awareness programmes.

“This is important for the council especially for all stakeholders in Nadi as they have to be fully aware of the new regulations that are introduced.

“Then the participants are to take back the message and disseminate it to their colleagues so that we are wholly on the same page.” Mr Cabemaiwai added.

He said the other programme is with the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA) and would be on valuation training.

“Later on we will undergo an awareness programme with the Ministry of Health and Bio Security Authority of Fiji.”
