Auto Rickshaw Rides At Open Day

The students, teachers and visitors who attended the FNU Open Day celebrations at Derrick Campus in Samabula on Thursday also took rides in the Bula Auto Rickshaw and the electrical car.

The auto rickshaw and electrical car were part of FNU’s School of Automotive an Engineering projects on show at the event.

The head of Department of Bodywork for the school Sunil Kumar said: “I came up with the idea of an auto rickshaw for this FNU open day,” he said.

“We have named it Bula Auto Rickshaw and it is first auto rickshaw in Fiji,”

He said it took them two weeks to make the auto rickshaw and it was a great learning experience for the students.

Meanwhile automotive engineering student Bimal Prasad said the auto rickshaw was part of their student project which they designed for FNU open day.”

Meanwhile people also enjoyed rides on the electrical car which acting head of department Pravin Chand said was a golf cart given by a donor.
