Music lovers in the Western Division, particularly those residing in Nadi, will tonight witness the first G4 Guitar Concert hosted at the New Nadi Farmers Club.

Performers will include Maxie Colombus (formerly of Bagasau, Suva, who now lives in California, USA).

The night includes Jimmy Nathu, a former Suva-based businessman who lives in New Zealand. Robert Verma of Pacific Harbour and Suva-based Michael Raymond are expected to wow the audience with their guitar virtuosity.

“He (Michael) did not perform in Suva last week, but will be here to do his thing. They will captivate the audience with their stunning musicianship and original approach to guitar playing,” Western Musicians and Entertainers Association secretary, Homer Fare said.

He said some local musicians would join the event.

“A blast from the past will see Mr Fare joining Jimi Nathu after a lapse of 30 odd years with some of his old friends in their former band Sangfroid Ride with John Kamoe, Victor Carlos with a little help from bassist Buli Seniwaitui.

“This is a must see concert, their guitars will electrify all. They will tell us the story of how the guitar has influenced their lives and they will deliver this story through their playing styles.

“Come and enjoy an evening of live music and entertainment featuring some of our country’s guitar greats in a historical journey and music collaboration in dedication to Fiji’s guitar players. Your attendance will also benefit the local musicians in the West because part of the proceeds will help in their quest to unite musicians and build a clubhouse of their own.”

Tickets are $20 and can be bought upon entry at the door.  The event starts at 6pm and goes on until 1am.
