Getting Stronger

John McKee is happy with the depth in the Vodafone Flying Fijians squad as they prepare to play Samoa today.

The islanders clash in the second round of the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup at Bonney Field, Sacramento at 12pm.

McKee said the unique environment brings in different atmosphere to the clash.

“The players are focused and the traditional rivalry continues,” McKee said.

McKee have made few changes and the notable inclusion is Clermont Rugby Club flanker Peceli Yato who will be making his debut as blindside flanker.

“Our players play all around the world in different competitions,” he said.

“We have to develop a team combination and develop our team strategy.

“Every game in this tournament is real progressive for us, every week as we work on different aspects to build our game.

“We’ve made a number of changes taking into consideration the balancing of game time, workload and fitness of the players.

“I’m confident in the strength and depth we’ve got in our squad.”
