Rewans have been able to collect $8000 on the first day of Rewa Day at Nabalili in Lomanikoro, Rewa yesterday.
“The target for the two day event that ends today is $15,000,” Roko Tui Rewa Timoci Kacanavesi said.
He said the Rewa Day was opened by the Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa, and will be closed today by the Vunivalu, Ro Epeli Mataitini.
In her opening address, Ro Teimumu stressed the need to work together in the province.
She also urged the people of Rewa to remain united in all that they did.
Ro Teimumu said the money collected would be used to cover their provincial levy and part of it would go to the scholarship fund.
