The two pool winners of the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) tournament will host the semifinal next week.

The tournament starts on Friday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori with pool matches.

“This will be a good opportunity for fans to watch their teams in their home ground,” Fiji FA competition manager Amitesh Pal said.

“But it also depends on the availability of the ground.”

Eight teams will be competing in the tournament, grouped in two pools. Defending champions Rewa is pooled with Ba, Nadroga and Labasa in Pool A while Rewa Galaxy Premier League winner Jack’s Nadi is in Pool B with Reebok/Shop N Save Lautoka, Tailevu-Naitasiri and Jedi’s Stationery Suva.

Pal said their preparation for the tournament was going well.

“The pool matches starts on Friday at the Ratu Cakobau Park and ends with the last round of pool games on Sunday to decide the semifinalists.

“The tournament will be tough as teams will have the services of the Vodafone Fijian U23 players who took part in the Pacific Games,” Pal said.

Tailevu-Naitasiri plays Lautoka in their opening match of the tournament at 1pm on Friday.

The semifinals and final will be played next week on Thursday and Friday, with the final on Sunday.
