No one has been charged in relation to the death of Bimal Kumari who was involved in a fatal road accident three weeks ago at Vakabalea, Navua.

On July 2, Ms Kumari, 75, was trying to cross the road in front of her home, when she was hit by the bus that she boarded daily to and from Navua Town to buy yaqona.

The late Ms Kumari’s eldest daughter, Roshni Kumar said, “No charges have been made to that bus driver who allegedly killed my mother and the driver is still driving”.

“I went to Navua Police Station today, to gather information on this case and Navua Police told me to come on Friday.

“They told me that their traffic investigator was on day-off yesterday and he would be on day-off today as well.

“We have not received any information from the police.

“It’s nearly three weeks now and we are concerned about what police are doing regarding this issue,” she said.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said they were conducting investigation before a report would be submitted to the Office of Director Public Precaution (DPP).

Comments could not be obtained from the bus company.
