Lautoka, Suva Top Tourney

The Pita Rabo-captained Suva Veterans were crowned the new winners of the RC Manubhai/APCO Coating Veterans International Tournament 2015 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.
Striker Sakeo Verevou scored two goals in the 19th and 44th minute respectively to beat Tavua Masters 2-0 in the final. They received 4500 richer while their opponents collected $2500.
The side had the services of Patrick Wise, Michael Maharaj, Ramulo Kaibau while Tavua laced with Josevata Masilagi, Masi Natisiwai, Shiu Sami, Marika Namaqa, Lario Musa and Arjun Pillay.
Winning skipper Pita Rabo said: “The boys did come out well but looked tired at times. We thank Fiji FA for the efforts in hosting this competition.”
Tavua Masters president Rakesh Kumaran said: “It was a tough match and Suva prevailed in the end.
In the semifinal, Tavua Masters beat Ba Veterans 1-0 while Suva Veterans beat Sydney Savusavu 1-0.
In the final of the Masters 35’s category, Bakalevu Moceimereke coached Lautoka Masters defeated Cuvu Legends 2-0 with David Everett and Salesh Sami Bula both scoring in the first half.
The Blues laced with former reps such Maika Waqa (captain), Manasa Tubuna, Saiyaz Ali, Laisiasi Vetaukula, Ratu Peniame Drauma proved to be a different side in the second spell.

Lautoka Master coach Bakalevu Moceimereke said: “It is a great tournament organised to see our friends get back together in the common thing we share – football.”
Cuvu team director Mohammed Ali said: “It was a good match and we lost to a better team.”
In the semifinal, Lautoka Masters beat Namaka Legends 1-0 with Maika Waqa nodding home the winner.
In the other semifinal Cuvu Legends beats NZ Cuvu 6-4 in penalty after both teams drew 2-2.
