Navosa players Eroni Tuwai and Jone Waqaliva jetted out of the country yesterday to take up rugby contracts in France.

The duo will join Vodafone Flying Fijians fullback Metuisela Talebula at Union Bordeaux Bègles Rugby Club

Tuwai hails from Korolevu while Waqaliva is from Sautabu.

They started playing rugby in school before switching to rugby league two years ago.

Fiji National Rugby League development officer Suliasi Cakautabu spoke highly of the players.

“They played rugby league for Coastline Roos in the Nadroga Zone, attended trials for the Canterbury Bulldogs in February this year,” he said.

“When the rugby league door closes, the rugby door opens.”

Cakautabu is confident the players will perform to expectations.
