The RC Manubhai & Co Ltd’s Friends’ Social Network Group yesterday donated various items to the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation to assist the fire victims in Suva, Ba and Labasa.

The donation include pillows, blankets groceries, kitchenware clothes and other items.

“I thank the Friends’ Social Network Group for assisting those families who were affected by fires,” Minister Rosy Akbar said.

She said the assistance would be shared between the affected families.

“We are also saddened by the death of child in Labasa and we will try to reach out to the family in Labasa in the coming few days.

“We hope there are more groups like yours (Friends’ Social Network Group), out there, who can help those in need of such assistance,” she said.

Group president Ashwin Prasad said: “Our intention is to assist those in the community that need help and we have decided to go through the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.”
