St John’s College U15, U17 Ready

St John’s College Under-15 and U17 teams are in Suva for the Coke Zero Deans quarterfinals at Buckhurst Park tomorrow.
Their U15 team play MBHS while the U17 face Ratu Navula.
Team manager Josese Nasere said they had been featuring in the quarterfinals of the Coke Zero Deans for a while now.
“This is something that is not new to us and it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to play in such a prestigious tournament,” team manager Josese Nasere said.
“We played one of the toughest pools in the Eastern Zone against Ratu Kadavulevu School and Lelean Memorial School.
“We are thankful for the tough games that we have had to play.”
Being the only school outside of Viti Levu, Nasere said the competition had helped develop the sport out in the islands.
“Schools in the islands don’t get the support we need like schools in Viti Levu, but being in this competition has really developed the sport,” he said.
“It is just a shame that there aren’t more schools from the islands taking part.”
In the U15 grade, St John’s College will play MBHS at 9.30am. Their U17 team play Ratu Navula at 10.40am at Buckhurst Park, Laucala Bay.
