The $3.2 million investment for the Waitui Beach Club on Denarau was officially launched last night.

The investment is a partnership between Richmond Limited and Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa.

The Waitui Beach Club is located on the existing resort and is an adults only zone.

While conducting the official launch the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Trade Faiyaz Siddiq Koya said this investment was an indication of the confidence of the private sector in Fiji.

The Minister also praised the innovative investment.

He said: “Whilst we may provide the best and friendliest services we also need to ensure that we are able to cater to our markets needs.

“Therefore it is important that we as a destination are able to offer more than just family travel.”

Richmond Limited Chairman Malakai Nayaga said: “The Waitui Beach Club is a testament of Sofitel leading the market by responding to new trends and opportunities that present themselves.

“And again raising the bar of servicing a growing tourism market segment that of an adult accommodation.”

The club also comprises of 74 beach club rooms in close proximity to and complementing the beach club concept.

“The beach club was a celebration of elegance, ambience, entertainment, fun, fitness and wellness,” he added.

Seasoned travellers would be treated to elevated standards of hospitality with focus on wellness and health.

“Our wellness theme extends to the club’s 25 metre lap pool and state of the art gym.

“This is complemented with dedicated fitness support staff offering complimentary yoga and fitness classes for guests,” he said.
