The first game of the 2015 INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants ended in a scoreless draw at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori yesterday.

What happened

The game was between  Kilavata Carriers Simplex Electronics Tailevu-Naitasiri and Shop N Save Lautoka.

Both teams got off to a good start with. Lautoka’s  Isikeli Jeke making the first attempt goal in the 6th minute.

With Tailevu-Naitasiri’s good defence, Lautoka resorted to shots at goal from outside the box.

Few good corners from Lautoka’s Kevin Naidu, but nothing positive.

Tailevu-Naitasiri goalkeeper Alifereti Baleloa worked overtime to keep Lautoka from scoring.

Lautoka’s Zibraaz Sahib got a yellow card in the 44th minute after a foul on Joseph Elder inside the box.

Kaliova Tivulu had the chance to put Tailevu-Naitasiri in the lead from a penalty kick, but hit the crossbar.

Halftime: Tailevu-Naitasiri 0-0 Lautoka

Star turn: Tailevu-Naitasiri’s Alifereti Baleloa, who made his debut for the team since joining the team in March, kept Lautoka at bay.

Big play; Defence on both sides was good, but fatigue was obvious in players towards the end of the game.

Comments: Shop N Save Lautoka coach Lambert Sarju, “I’m happy with the performance.

“They performed to the level that we expected of them. We need  more effort in the midfield for our next game against Nadi which we must win.”

Kilavata Carriers Simplex Electronic Tailevu Naitasiri president Sandeep Roy did not wish to make a comment when approached.
