Jack’s Nadi Book Semifinal Berth

The Usaia Koroilagilagi- coached Jack’s Nadi booked a home semifinal berth in the Skipper Cup competition after their 18-11 victory over Lautoka at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.
What happened: Lautoka drew first blood through a penalty by Asaeli Qalova in the 7th minute and extended the lead in the 24th minute to lead 6-0.
In the 29th minute Nadi fullback Cyrill Reece kicked a penalty and equalised in the 34th minute.
Halftime: Nadi 6-6 Lautoka
In the second spell Nadi winger Jonetani Mateiwai scored in the 43rd minute which was converted by Reece to lead 13-6.
Nadi winger Orisi Erenavula scored their second try in the 33rd minute to increase their lead to 18-6.
In the final moments of the match Nadi was reduced to 12 players after Jolame Lewavou was sin-binned for high tackle, Orisi Erenavalu and Takubu were sent off for indiscipline.
Big play: Cyrill Reece continued to play a big role for Nadi.
Star turn: Lautoka started off with good defensive game.
Comments: Nadi team manager Jeff Tamata said: “Lautoka really gave us a good game. It was a really tough game which exposed our weaknesses.”
Lautoka team manager Timoci Namuaira said: “It’s been a good season for us. I must take my hat off to the boys playing well against a in-form Nadi team.”
In the other game played yesterday, BLK Nadroga defeated Northland 21-13 at Lawaqa Park.
