Close to 500 students of Arya Kanya Pathshala Primary School in Yalalevu, Ba, participated in Colgate’s National Toothbrushing Day celebrations yesterday

Headteacher Vinay Singh said kindergarten children and Year One to Year Eight students took part in the event.

“This is all thanks to Colgate Palmolive who provided us with Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes,” he said.

Apart from collectively brushing their teeth with toothbrushes and Colgate toothpaste provided students were also involved in making posters.

“The students happily sang a song which was composed by school teacher Zahida Ali to commemorate the day’s celebration.”

He said the children enjoyed the day and the toothbrushing would now be carried out on a daily basis.

Meanwhile students and teachers of Wainibuka District School in Nayavu, Wainibuka also celebrated the National Toothbrushing Day with the theme, ‘Brush as One Nation’.

Headteacher Anare Tawake, said this type of school-based activity organised by Colgate Palmolive would promote healthy living in students.

He also thanked the organising co-ordinator Navneet Chandra, for the great preparation throughout the week.
