The new Ba Hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility to be enjoyed by all residents living in the Ba and Tavua areas.
At the foundation laying ceremony yesterday, at Clopcott Street in Ba, Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar assured residents that the Government was fully committed to their wellbeing.
“This hospital will serve approximately 140,000 Fijians and will be a bridge between Tavua and Rakiraki sub-divisional hospitals and Lautoka Hospital.”
The hospital, to be opened in October, 2016, will have a 24-hour emergency service, standard birthing units, general wards, dental surgery, minor surgical procedures, blood services, X-ray and scan, pharmacy, physiotherapy and dietetics.
“We will continue to seek imaginative ways to overcome the health problems,” said Ms Bhatnagar.
