The Fijian team is ready to do the country proud in the World Children Baseball Foundation Fair in Chiba, Japan next week.

Coach Masahiro Shirakawa said they selected five best players age 10 and 11 years old.

“These five players have the potentials to do Fiji proud.

“They have been training well and we have been getting a lot of support from the Raiwai community and their parents and they are all excited to travel to Japan,” Shirakawa said.

 

Representatives

The five players are Ilisoni Ravualala, Ulaiasi Meo, Lemeki Biaudamu, Kemueli Musunamasi and Anare Tawake.

Year five student of St Marcellin Primary School Anare Tawake is looking forward to his first international trip.

“I want to thank Fiji Baseball development officer Inoke Niubalavu for selecting me,”Tawake said.

‘This will also be my first overseas trip and I’m excited.

“I want to thank my families and my friends for their support.”

This would be Fiji’s second participation at the fair and Niubalavu said this was part of their development plan.

The team left yesterday. The tournament is set for August 2-10.
