Two New Routes To Provide More Markets

Air New Zealand hopes to provide Fijian exporters with new routes with a launch later this year.

The airline will be flying from Auckland to Houston (USA) and Auckland to Buenos Aires (Argentina) from December.

Given its already-existing direct Nadi-Auckland flight, the introduction of these further connections will open up new market access for our exporters.

Air New Zealand Cargo Sales manager, Pradip Singh, said hopefully the new routes will allow Fijian exporters to continue expanding markets with direct and faster route to those destinations.

He said in South America, there’s a big market for Aquarium fish (live tropical fish).

“Currently we finding it difficult in carrying cargo to places like Argentina and other areas,” he said.

“So when we will go to Buenos Aires, we have short connections partnership with other airlines which has many flights out to all South American destinations and this will help exporters.”

“It will be cheaper and it will give them shorter window because like live fish has got a very critical window,” Mr Singh said.

“Once it’s packed in the boxes and oxygenated, the departure and arrivals should be as short as possible and this is an answer for them.”
