Brave Heart

She has been dubbed the Brave Heart in the same tradition as the movie Braveheart, a 1995 epic historical medieval war drama film directed by and starring Mel Gibson.

She is an outspoken woman from one of the islands in the West, ready to take on the might of Daniel Urai, the general secretary of the National Union of Hospitality, Catering & Tourism Industries Employees.

She is challenging Mr Urai for his post in the union election this month in Lautoka.

This will be the first time in many years that Mr Urai is being opposed and it’s causing ripples in the union.

It will also be the first time that a woman is standing.

It will be the breaking of new frontiers, featuring the battle of the sexes and the battle to defeat the old order.

In Braveheart, Gibson portrays William Wallace, a 13th century Scottish warrior who led the Scots in the First War of Scottish Independence against  King Edward I of England. This union election will be similar in many respects.

Roaming West

The politician with the roving eye seems to have taken some pointers from one who has been doing a fair bit of mingling as well.

A certain trip down to the Western Division was more than what met the eye, we hear.

Is this clear?

Some people need a reality check. Since they are clearly unable to follow simple events, we shall break it down for them:

  1. Commodore Viliame Naupoto is not a FijiFirst Member of Parliament. He never was. He was a FijiFirst candidate. He did not make the cut hence was not an MP.
  2. Those who are screaming that Brigadier-General Mosese Tikoitoga’s resignation was unconstitutional (Who knows how some people come up with such statements?), it was not. See, so simple.

The third side

Lost job because of political affiliation? How about other reasons?

Just saying.

As they say, there are always three sides of such a claim, your own, theirs and the truth.
