Waisale Serevi believes the Vodafone Flying Fijians will make serious noise come the Rugby World Cup in England next month.

The Seattle, Washington-based IRB 7s Hall of Fame star made the comment following Fiji’s triumphant 39-29 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup final win against Manu Samoa yesterday at Swanguard Stadium in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

Serevi told SUNsports the Flying Fijians had found their niche but stressed the importance of fitness and form, the formula would just be enough to turns heads in England.

“Fiji has a great set of players.

I’m impressed with the way the team has come along,” Serevi said.

“The boys played with a lot heart and determination. The game was more of redemption”.

Serevi said the side turned ‘stout heart’ when the stakes were high. The former Fijian great said the Flying Fijians must now focus their attention to the 2015 RWC.

“Fiji needs to get serious about RWC and I’m confident the team will spring surprises”.

“Hundreds who turned at Swanguard Stadium to support their former countrymen deserve plaudits”.

Serevi said the coaching staff had done a great job and they deserved a special mention.

Meanwhile Flying Fijians Captain Akapusi Qera is confident they would survive their pool of death following yesterday’s victory.

“It’s a boost as a whole and for this young group going forward to RWC, we are in the pool that is labelled as a pool of death but we will survive that pool.

“We wanted to win this badly and we knew Samoa will be coming out firing after we drew in the first match, we just went in ruthlessly,” Qera said.
