Turnout Great: Ravisa

Three hundred and one (301) students participated in the Central/ Eastern Council of Special and Inclusive Educators at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva yesterday.

Hilton Early Intervention Centre, Suva Special School, Gospel School for the Deaf, Fiji Vocational Technical Training Centre, and Fiji School for the Blind were the six schools that participated.

Central/Eastern Council of Special and Inclusive Educators (CECSIE) Nanise Ravisa was impressed with the turnout and the performance of the children.

“The turnout was positive not only from the students but from the parents as well,” Ravisa said.

“This is a much-anticipated event that the teachers and parents have been looking forward to and we are so happy with the great turnout.”

She said the event was a development for the children as well.

“We have encouraged students to take up a sport because this is the stage where we mould them to become good sports ambassadors. We start from grass root level.”

Ravisa had also acknowledged McDonald’s Fiji for sponsoring the event this year. “We acknowledge McDonald’s for supporting the event having paid 50 per cent of the venue fee, providing the trophies and as well the lunch and refreshments for the children.”
