FINAL: Giants To Watch

It will be the clash of the two most successful teams as 4R Electrical Ba take on Rewa in what should be a thrilling final of the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) today at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Ba was the first to qualify after beating a relentless Jack’s Nadi side 2-1 on Thursday while Rewa sealed their spot after edging Jedi’s Suva 1-0 on Friday.

Both coaches know the immense task and the pressure that comes with it.

Rewa aims to retain the title while Ba will be hoping to win it back after two years.

The players are the ones who will be making a difference on the field. Rewa will have the up per hand with the presence of the Fijian Under-20 players.

Key Giants

Iosefo Verevou –  very creative, connect well with team and the go-to-man for Rewa today.

Tevita Waranivalu (Rewa)( – His resilience and energy on the field will create problems for the ‘Men in Black.”

Garish Prasad – at midfield/right back, Prasad’s ball control, skills and long passes will favour Rewa.

Narendra Rao Junior – the Fijian U20 rep ability to score in crucial moments of any game will most likely be a threat to Rewa.

Malakai Tiwa – the 29 year- old midfielder experience will be pivotal to Ba’s progress.

Alvin Singh – Singh’s aggressiveness and defence would be an advantage for Ba.

Ba’s effective style of play can be a game changer.

On paper, the ‘Men in Black’ are favourites to win as they have won the B.O.G 16 times and been runners up six times.

Rewa, however, has stepped up their performance and showcased some excellent football during the pool play and semifinals of the B.O.G. They will be looking to win their seventh and also retain the title.

The game kicks off at 3pm at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
