More than 3000 people of Rewa and the surrounding areas are benefitting from the improvement of Nasali Landing.

The improvement includes the new jetty and waiting shed to cater for people waiting for punts to take them to their villages along the Rewa River.

It is now easier for people to make entry and exist on the jetty.

“The Nasali Landing is the entry and exist point for 10 villages within the Rewa district and three villages in Vutia district,” Rewa provincial administrator Josevata Suka said.

“Last year Government funded $313,000 towards the improvement including the Nasali river bank protection.

“We managed to complete that late last year and it has improved on the safety for the people of Rewa with a population of around 3000 who rely on the river for travel,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nasali Landing bakery owner Eminoni Lidi said: “I am thankful to the Government for the improvement of the Nasali Landing.”

“The improvement of Nasali jetty river bank has stopped the water from coming in my bakery,” he said.
