The Nabouwalu Sub-Divisional Hospital staff in Bua last Friday praised the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate for visiting their hospital again.

As the Minister began his second Northern tour, he took time to hear the people’s concerns about the Nabouwalu Sub-Divisional Hospital and promised to look into them.

Hospital staff noted it had been years since a health minister visited them frequently compared to past ministers.

Divisional medical officer Bua Dr Kulae Tuisabeto Tuibua said she was pleased that Mr Usamate has visited the hospital twice since he became Helath Minister.

“From the time I started in this hospital, this is the first Health Minister to have visited the hospital and health centres more often,” Dr Tuibua said.

Hospital pharmacist Sikeli Vasuitaukei, who has been working at the hospital for three years, endorsed Dr Tuibua’s comments.

“Mr Usamate really thinks of people working in the ministry, especially those in rural areas,” he said.

“To come and listen to our concerns is encouraging. He shows he really cares. We are happy he is taking back the issues to Suva.”

Usamate thanked staff for the great and superb work they had been doing for the past years.

“It is a challenge for me but I am learning as I go along with this ministry,” he said

Mr Usamate also took time out to listen to other issues the staff were going through.
