Nasilai, Rewa, brothers Epeli Saukuru and Iosefo Verevou sealed the win for the ‘Delta Tigers’ yesterday.

The duo scored in both halves as the defending champions beat 4R Electrical Ba 2-0 in the final of the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Verevou, 19, stole the show scoring the first goal before his elder brother Saukuru sealed the win in the 90th minute.

“I feel proud to score in front of my home fans,” Verevou said.

Last year Verevou was suspended by the Fiji Football Association and yesterday he was the hero for Rewa.

“I’m happy to score for Rewa and I’m proud of this victory.”

Verevou scooped the highest goal scorer award with five goals and best player of the tournament award after the final yesterday.

“This victory is the start of many things from me,” Verevou said.

Verevou showed his class with a powerful long range shot outside the Ba box which gave goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube no chance.

“I want to score more goals for Rewa and the national team especially for 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

“My aim now is to play for Fijian U23 team at the Olympics and I will maintain my level of performance to get in the team and score more goals for Fiji.”

Saukuru, 27, was proud to score and contribute to the win with his younger brother.

“I knew I would score,” Saukuru said.

“It’s a proud moment for me and Verevou.”

Saukuru’s shot deflected off Ba defender Remueru Tekiate into the net which put the game beyond Ba’s reach.
