Although occasional showers brought some respite in the Western Division, the dry spell still continues.

Misaele Funaki, Fiji Metrological Service’s principal scientific officer yesterday said the Fiji Meteorological Service would today release an updated rainfall data.

He said some more handy rain for the west with 10mm had been reported at Nadi International Airport since last Saturday morning in addition to the 5mm recorded up to 9am yesterday.

“Temperatures are noticeably cooler once more across the country today,” Mr Funaki said.

Meanwhile, cloud and showers will clear from the central and eastern divisions by tomorrow morning as stable southeast trade winds become established.

“It will be fine and mostly sunny throughout by this afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring fine, dry and mostly sunny weather with moderate to fresh trade winds and local sea breezes, and indeed after tomorrow there is no rain in sight for at least the next week or so.”
